We all have a personal style, and your home should reflect it. Whether it’s a confident pop of colour or a whole-room palette inspired by something you love, I help you turn ideas into a clear design plan, so your space feels cohesive, functional, and unmistakably you.

Design, for me, starts long before we choose tile or paint. It starts with a conversation.
I’ve learned that most people already know what they want their home to feel like—they just don’t always have the words for it yet. My gift is listening closely (and reading between the lines). As you tell me how you live, what drives you crazy daily, what you’re drawn to, and what you want more of, my intuition starts connecting the dots. That’s when the plan becomes clear: the right layout, the right flow, the right colours, the right details… the ones that make your space feel like home the minute you walk in.
I know it can feel nerve-racking to make big changes—especially when colour and big decisions are involved. My job is to make the process feel calm, supported, and even fun. You don’t have to know your “style.” You just need someone who can guide you through the choices and bring everything together in a way that fits your life.
After leaving a successful career in sales, I studied interior design at BCIT and jumped into the industry in 2006. I moved to Victoria in 2008 and launched I Dare-Ya Designs soon after. Since then, I’ve worked with 150+ clients—families, couples, and solo homeowners—designing kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home interiors that are functional, personal, and full of heart. I also offer virtual design, because great design support shouldn’t depend on where you live.
When I’m not designing homes (or dreaming up fabric patterns), you’ll usually find me outside, beach runs, kayaking, cycling, hiking, soaking up the natural beauty of Vancouver Island. Nature is my favourite muse: it’s where my love of colour, texture, and organic, lived-in beauty comes from.
“What a relief that was hiring Daria! I was finally able to get a decent night of sleep after stressing endlessly over the renovation project.” — Eve W.
